Wales prop Rhodri Jones will not feature in Scarlets' final two games of the Pro12 season.

Scarlets, in conjunction with the Welsh Rugby Union, have decided not to risk dual-contracted Jones for the games against Cardiff Blues and Treviso.

Jones, 23, has not played since dislocating his shoulder against the Ospreys on 3 January.

Head coach Wayne Pivac said he was not "going to risk putting him out".

Scarlets are locked in a battle with Edinburgh to secure sixth place in the Pro12 table and guarantee a place in next season's European Champions' Cup.
