Australia fly-half Bernard Foley says opposite number Dan Biggar will be a huge threat in the World Cup Pool A decider with Wales at Twickenham.

Both sides have already qualified for the quarter-finals, with Saturday's game deciding who wins the group.

Biggar stood out in Wales' wins over England and Fiji, landing every kick at goal in a 36-point tally.

"The way he's controlled the games has been outstanding, and his goal-kicking has spoken for itself," said Foley.

"The way Wales use their backs to get on the front foot... and their forwards are just tireless as well, so it's going to be a really good contest for us, a great challenge."

Foley won universal acclaim for a virtuoso display in Australia's win over England on Saturday, scoring 28 points in the 33-13 victory that sent the hosts out of the tournament.

The Wallabies will take a 10-match winning run against Wales into Saturday's encounter, but with the margin of victory in the past five meetings five points or fewer, Foley is expecting another tense test.

"You can't relax against a team like Wales, they've got such quality players and especially their outside backs can definitely hurt you," he added.

'Forwards win games'

Australia's backline flair against England was complemented by a dominate pack display - both in the scrums and open play where back-rowers Michael Hooper and David Pocock controlled the breakdown.

Hooper, though, could be missing against Wales having been cited for an alleged act of foul play against England.

Blind-side flanker Scott Fardy is the least-heralded member of the of the back-row unit and says it will be crucial to get the better of Wales' breakaway trio on Saturday.

"Forwards win games I reckon, and we'll be looking to do that against Wales on Saturday," Fardy said.

"[Pocock and Hooper] do the hard work as well, but they're getting the glory - I don't get much but I enjoy other roles. They're both magnificent players and it's very easy for me to play alongside them."

Creaking Wales scrum?

While Australia outmuscled England's pack in the scrum, leading to five penalties in their favour, the Wales scrum struggled against the hosts and then Fiji.

But Australia defence coach Nathan Grey says he has not seen any weakness in Warren Gatland's tight five.

"I think their scrum's been pretty solid, they've had a lot of injuries and their performances over the competition have been very consistent," Grey said.

"That's something you look for and Warren has certainly got them humming, they've had a good break since their last game [against Fiji] so they're going to be nice and fresh and ready to go.

"That improvement in our scrum is not something that's happened overnight, it's been a process. We're always very confident we can put any side we come up against under pressure both with the ball and without."
