Chris Fusaro makes his 100th appearance for Glasgow Warriors on Friday

Glasgow Warriors' European Champions Cup defeat to Northampton left the dressing room at a "low" ebb, according to flanker Chris Fusaro.

The 25-16 loss last weekend saw Gregor Townsend's side slip eight points behind Saints, who top their pool.

"Gregor told us in the dressing room to remember this moment," said 26-year-old Fusaro, who played no part in the game.

"He told us to remember how low we felt to make sure we wouldn't let this happen again."

Fusaro marks his 100th appearance. for Glasgow on Friday night for the visit of Italian side Treviso, one of eight changes made by head coach Townsend.

Prop Ryan Grant is also set to mark his century for the club from the bench.

"Players like Chris and Ryan are respected by everybody here," said Townsend. "On one side, you've got players here that add experience that really are important to our culture, what they do off the field, they set standards.

"Then you've got fresh faces that can add something different, whether it's players we've signed from Fiji. or it's young players coming through the academy.

"That's the mix and the nature of a professional team: those that have set the standards for a number of years, those that are coming in to give us different perspective and different challenges for the players that are there."

The disappointing manner of the European defeat has, Townsend added, seen a determined focus during this week's training.

And he revealed how the Warriors coaches tailor their approach to manage different players in the wake of a poor result.

"If someone has a poor game or they've had other issues, it's great to know that, and you can handle them differently," he said.

"Whether we win, lose or draw, our Monday, Tuesdays are the same, it's about us doing the work and learning from what didn't go right, learning from the opposition and building on what went well.

"There are players you know need more of a sharp focus on: 'this is unacceptable, this needs to improve,' and there are players that need a boost of confidence.

"Maybe they haven't done things as well and they're just struggling for that confidence, and they need a reminder that we believe in them, and we are as keen for them to play well as they are"
