Wales will assess Dan Biggar's shoulder injury on Monday when the fly-half reports for squad duty.

The Ospreys fly-half took a blow to his shoulder late on in Ospreys' European Champions Cup exit at Clermont Auvergne and was replaced by Sam Davies.

Biggar is Wales' first-choice fly-half and coach Warren Gatland will not want bad news so close to the Six Nations.

Wales have already lost Bath fly-half Rhys Priestland for most of the tournament, which starts on 3 February.

A resurgent Scotland are first up for Gatland's side at the Principality Stadium.

Scarlets' Rhys Patchell, Gareth Anscombe of Cardiff Blues and Gloucester's Owen Williams are the other Wales squad stand-offs.

Earlier on Saturday, Saracens' Wales back-three star Liam Williams failed a late fitness test before they hammered Northampton in Europe's top tier.

Wales wing George North came on for Saints in the second half after overcoming a knee injury.
