Sean Maitland has been left out of Scotland's squad for their final Six Nations match against France on Friday.
Scotland were limited to selecting five English-based players because of an agreement with the Premiership.
Stuart Hogg and Sam Skinner (Exeter), Scott Steele (Harlequins) and Alex Craig and Chris Harris (Gloucester) were chosen ahead of the Saracens wing.
Finn Russell (concussion) and Adam Hastings (ban) are back, but lock Jonny Gray is again out through injury.
Glasgow Warriors' Fraser Brown does not make Gregor Townsend's 29-man squad despite the hooker returning from injury for his club against Dragons on Sunday.
Russell returns to the squad after his head knock against Ireland, which means Hogg is likely to return to full-back from the fly-half role he filled in place of his former Glasgow team-mate against Italy.
Darcy Graham is likely to retain his place on the wing given Maitland's absence, although Rufus McLean is also a possibility following his wonder try for Warriors at the weekend.
Friday's game was postponed from Sunday 28 February after an outbreak of Covid-19 in the French camp, with head coach Fabien Galthie and 11 players testing positive for the virus.
It meant Scotland had to come to the special agreement with England's Premiership clubs for the release of players.
Townsend's side are looking for a victory that would take them above Ireland and Friday's visitors into second place in the Six Nations table.
France will snatch the title from Wales if they secure a winning margin of 21 points or more in a bonus-point win.
Hastings is free to play after his three-game ban for a red card picked up against Leinster in the Pro14 ended in time for him to start Glasgow's 26-17 defeat by Dragons.
Brown, who had been expected to miss the Six Nations campaign with a neck injury picked up in December, also started that game.
