Worcester Warriors forwards Matt Cox and Callum Black have both announced that they will retire from rugby at the end of the season.

US-born Black, 35, made 103 appearances in two spells at Sixways, either side of 145 games in seven years for Ulster.

Cox, 33, also made more than 100 appearances for the club, either side of a four-year spell with Gloucester.

He has not played since suffering a foot injury in a pre-season game against Northampton.

He now plans to focus on two companies he started up, while Black's career is already up and running.

In partnership with his Warriors front-row colleague Nick Schonert, they have opened up a chain of coffee shops - Guilt Trip Coffee and Donuts - and already have two shops in Worcester, one in Broadway and six in Northern Ireland.

The players leave after a disappointing season in which Warriors finished bottom after winning just one of the 19 league games they played - 18 defeats on the trot after beating London Irish on the opening weekend.

Sunday's final game against Cox's former club Gloucester has been postponed because of a Covid outbreak - one of Warriors' three four-point 'wins'.
