Ollie Hassell-Collins' hat-trick helped London Irish to a dominant 43-21 Premiership win over Newcastle Falcons.

Irish secured a bonus point after 33 minutes after two tries from Hassell-Collins and one each for Steve Mafi and Kyle Rowe as Sean Robinson and Callum Chick replied for Falcons.

Hassell-Collins' third try came 12 minutes after the break before Agustin Creevy burrowed in 15 minutes later.

Adam Radwan scored from 50 metres for a late consolation for Newcastle.

The win sees the Exiles move up to sixth in the Premiership while Newcastle are eighth.

Irish were irresistible with ball in hand early on - Rowe found a gap to sprint through after seven minutes before Hassell-Collins followed suit from 30 metres soon after.

Robinson went in under the posts to cut the gap, but an excellent looping pass from Paddy Jackson sent Hassell-Collins away for his second score before Mafi went in from close range four minutes later.

Chick's try shortly before the break kept Falcons in the game, but any hopes of getting anything out of it were ended within the first 15 minutes of the second period as a Jackson penalty and Hassell-Collins' third try ended the game as a contest.

Olly Cracknell had a try disallowed shortly after when video replays showed he had been tackled before he slid over, but Irish only had to wait another 10 minutes for their final try as Creevy got his seventh of the season.

Radwan's excellent effort late on made the score more respectable for Newcastle, but could not take the gloss off a polished London Irish performance.

London Irish director of rugby Declan Kidney told BBC Radio London:

"We played for longer and we got a bit of reward out of that as well.

"Newcastle are a very good side as they're showing - they put seven tries on us last year and we knew they wouldn't go away and they didn't, you could see them playing right to the end.

"But the fact that we stayed on point for a bit longer today we got rewards at good times for us."

Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards:

"Credit to London Irish because they're a good side who played well on the day, but we have to look to ourselves.

"We gave them soft tries, we conceded far too easily and didn't take our own opportunities.

"The players are understandably disappointed in the changing room because it means a lot to them and they've worked hard during the week to put in a big performance, and it hasn't happened.

"We'll address it as a group, as we always do, and the boys will be very subdued on the long bus trip home.

"We won't make any excuses - we just weren't good enough on the day, and credit must go to London Irish for being much more clinical in executing their game plan."
