Six Nations 2022 permutations: How France and Ireland can win title
- Published
France will win their first Six Nations title and Grand Slam since 2010 if they beat England in the final match of the 2022 tournament, which kicks off at 20:00 GMT.
Ireland moved three points above France in the standings after overcoming Scotland with a bonus-point 26-5 win in Dublin and will take the title if France lose.
In the unlikely event France draw with England and score four tries to secure a bonus point, Ireland will win the title on points difference.
Four points are awarded for a win, two for a draw and there are bonus points on offer for scoring four or more tries or losing by seven points or fewer.
Ireland secured their sixth Triple Crown of the Six Nations era with their win over Scotland, having also beaten Wales and England.
England will hope to secure third place in the table but could finish below Scotland on points difference if they suffer a heavy defeat.
2021 champions Wales finish fifth
Italy beat Wales 22-21 thanks to a dramatic late try in Cardiff to record their first Six Nations win since 2015 and end a losing streak of 36 matches.
Wales, the 2021 champions, will finish fifth after just one win from their five games.
Italy will still finish last for the seventh year in a row.
