Alfie Barbeary's hat-trick helped Wasps overcome Biarritz to reach the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals.
The England prospect crossed twice in the first half, along with Jacob Umaga and Dan Robson, as Wasps opened up a commanding 29-8 half-time lead.
Mathieu Hirigoyen went over early in the second half before scores from Steffon Armitage and Bastien Soury brought the French side to within four.
But Barbeary grabbed his hat-trick late on to snuff out their comeback hopes.
Wasps - twice European champions and winners of this, Europe's second-tier competition, in 2003 - started brightly in the south of France against the Challenge Cup winners of 10 years ago as full-back Umaga collected a long pass from Malakai Fekitoa to touch down following good work from the pack.
After landing a penalty to get on the board, Biarritz then made a hash of the restart as Charlie Atkinson broke away to put Barbeary in under the posts with a lovely one-handed pass.
Barbeary then burrowed over with a pick and go from another powerful scrum, and when Robson dotted down after collecting Zach Kibirige's excellent in-field chip, Wasps had stormed 29-3 in front.
Hooker Lucas Peyresblanques went over from a line-out for the home side's first try just before the break.
That score seemed to reinvigorate Biarritz who turned up the heat on the visitors with two quick close-range tries from flanker Hirigoyen and number eight Armitage as Wasps' lead was slashed to seven points.
But a Jimmy Gopperth penalty inched Wasps further in front only for Soury to crash over to cut the gap to just four points.
That was as close as Biarritz got, though, as Wasps kicked for the corner following a penalty for a high tackle on Will Porter and Barbeary completed his hat-trick from the resulting line-out.
