European rugby: Welsh teams learn European opponents
- Published
Wales' rugby regions now know where and when they will face their European knockout opponents.
Ospreys will travel to Saracens on Sunday, 2 April (15:00 GMT) in the round of 16 of the Champions Cup.
Scarlets kick off the knockout weekend at Parc y Scarlets on Friday, 31 March against Brive (20:00 GMT) in the Challenge Cup.
Dragons travel to Glasgow (17:30 GMT) before Cardiff host Sale Sharks (20:00 GMT) on Saturday, 1 April.
The quarter-finals are taking place the following weekend.
This is only the second time all four Welsh teams have reached Europe's knockouts, with the first having been in the Covid-affected 2020-21 season.
Ospreys are back in Europe's elite following a dramatic win at Leicester in Europe's top flight and must travel to StoneX Stadium to face three-time champions Saracens.
The London club lost 20-14 in Edinburgh but stayed ahead of the Scots in their group to earn a home tie, after a late try secured a losing bonus point.
The winner will face either defending champions La Rochelle or Gloucester in the last eight.
Scarlets ensured a home last-16 tie in the second-tier Challenge Cup as they won at Bayonne.
They face French side Brive who qualified in the final round of pool matches with a 37-24 win over Cardiff, and will host either Bristol or Clermont-Auvergne in the quarter-final.
Cardiff's failure to score a fourth try in that match - and collect two bonus points in the process - meant they slipped to fourth in Pool A and face Champions Cup opposition in Sale.
The victor will meet either Benetton or Connacht in the next round.
Dragons came close enough to victory against Lions at Ystrad Mynach to earn a trip to Glasgow.
Victory could set up a rematch in the last eight with the Lions, if the South Africans overcome Racing 92.
