England wing Anthony Watson is in talks about rejoining Leicester Tigers.
The 29-year-old spent last season with Tigers, but had appeared to have left when his deal expired in the summer.
Watson, who has missed the World Cup with a calf injury, had been expected to follow a number of fellow England internationals in moving abroad., external
But Tigers head coach Dan McKellar told BBC Radio Leicester he wants Watson back, and that the club's hierarchy are working on a potential deal.
"That's all up in the air," McKellar said.
"Wilksy [general manager Richard Wilks] and Andrea [chief executive Andrea Pinchen] will deal with that and I'm sure there will be announcements in and around that at the right time."
Former Bath and London Irish winger Watson featured 16 times for Tigers last season and scored six tries.
His contract at Welford Road had ended before McKellar started as head coach in July, but his influence was quickly made apparent to Tigers' new boss.
"He is a quality player," McKellar said.
"He has unbelievable footwork, he is a try-scorer and you need people who can score tries.
"And from what I've been told he loved his time here at Leicester Tigers, so we will see where that all ends up."
