Flanker Miles Reid has signed a new contract with Bath, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.

He joins scrum-half Louis Schreuder and numerous other players to have committed their future to the club in the past two weeks.

The Bath-born back rower came through their academy and has made 91 first team appearances.

The 25-year-old's current contract was due to expire at the end of the season before this three-year extension.

"I am absolutely delighted. This is my hometown club that I have supported for years since I was a kid, so to stay here for a few more years is brilliant," Reid said.

"It's really special also for my family, I grew up here watching the team and heard so many stories from my dad about the golden days so it's really special to be staying here and trying to recreate that.

"Ultimately I want to win something here and progress this team. We've come on leaps and bounds in the last two years so to see what we can do in the future is really exciting."

Reid made his senior debut for Bath in 2018 and in 2021 he was selected for an England international summer training squad.

"The first thing to mention about Miles is his qualities off the pitch," Bath head of rugby Johann van Graan said.

"Not only is he a leader but he loves the club and he loves the Blue, Black and White.

"On the pitch, Miles has developed into a very good 6, 7, and 8. His contact skills have improved so much and Miles is becoming one of the true pillars in our group. I am very thankful that Miles will be staying at Bath Rugby."
