Scarlets have signed flanker Jarrod Taylor from South African side DHL Stormers.
Taylor, 22, has been playing Currie Cup rugby for Western Province, scoring four tries in six starts.
Scarlets say the back row forward has signed a contract "for the remainder of the current season and beyond".
"Jarrod is a player who has impressed us with his performances in the Currie Cup," said Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel.
"He is an abrasive player, with and without the ball and is strong in the contact area. He will add to the young group of back-rowers we already have at the club."
Scarlets are missing flanker and captain Josh Macleod with a long-term knee injury, while Taine Plumtree has been sidelined with a shoulder problem.
