Mateo Carreras: Argentina wing exits Newcastle Falcons for Bayonne with immediate effect

Mateo Carreras played just three games for Newcastle this season without registering a try

Newcastle Falcons winger Mateo Carreras has left the club with immediate effect to move to French club Bayonne.

The Argentina international, 24, had already agreed to join the Top 14 outfit for next season, but that move has now been brought forward.

Carreras, who has 17 caps for the Pumas, scored 16 tries in 40 appearances for the Falcons.

Newcastle are bottom of the Premiership, having lost all 12 games this season.
