Scarlets confirmed Joe Roberts and Steff Evans are set for lengthy spells on the sidelines due to injury.

Centre Roberts is due to have a knee operation while wing Evans has undergone surgery on an Achilles tendon.

Taine Plumtree and Jarrod Taylor are close to returning from shoulder and hamstring issues respectively.

However, the duo will miss Saturday's clash with Glasgow Warriors in Llanelli.

Dwayne Peel's side - who sit 13th in the United Rugby Championship - will be boosted by the return of Ryan Elias for the visit of Glasgow after the Wales hooker recovered from a hamstring injury.

Scarlets ended an eight-game losing run in all competitions with a 16-13 victory over Benetton last time out.
