Newcastle Falcons lock Tim Cardall has signed a new deal to remain with the Premiership club for the following season.

The 28-year-old joined in 2023 from Super Rugby side Melbourne Rebels and has since scored one try in 16 appearances.

Cardall, who previously played for Nottingham and Wasps, has battled a foot injury during his time with the club.

"I'm really happy to be staying here at Newcastle Falcons for next season," he said.

"Last season came with its fair share of challenges due to injury, but I'm excited to be part of this team as we head into what promises to be an exciting time for the club."

Newcastle director of rugby Steve Diamond added: "Tim has had to be patient through injury but has worked really hard during a difficult year.

"I'm looking forward to seeing the impact he can have for us on the field."
