Wales head coach Richard Whiffin has made 10 changes for his side's final Pool B fixture at the World Rugby U20 Championship against Spain on Wednesday (14:30 BST).

Fly-half Harri Wilde and wing Elijah Evans are the only backs who retain their places from the 35-21 loss to France last Friday.

Prop Ioan Emanuel, flanker Deian Gwynne and captain Harry Beddall are the only members of the pack to retain their spots in the starting XV.

Ospreys full-back Lewis Edwards earns his first cap as Scarlets' Elis Price and Cardiff's Osian Darwin-Lewis start at centre at the Payanini Center in Verona.

Wilde will be partnered at half-back by Neath scrum-half Ellis Lewis.

Pontypool's Evan Wood starts at hooker, with Scarlets' Jac Pritchard and Ioan Emanuel the props.

Exeter Chiefs lock Luke Evans partners Nick Thomas in the second row as Gloucester flanker Caio James starts on the openside, alongside Gwynne and Beddall in the back row.

Following defeats by Argentina and France, Wales are unable to progress to the top tier play-offs in the competition - with their aim now being to finish fifth.

"We said from the start to the boys in the squad that we have 30 players we are comfortable in playing and starting, and we've stuck to that by giving some guys an opportunity that have been patiently waiting. They now get their chance against Spain," said Whiffin.

"We were very close in both games and both games could have gone differently but we are where we are. Yes the boys are disappointed, but more so because they know they competed well in both games and they feel that they have probably not got what they deserved.

"If we win our last three games we will finish fifth. That would certainly be one of the better finishes achieved in the last few years, so that is the target."
