Cornish Pirates have signed back-row Tomiwa Agbongbon on loan from Championship rivals Ealing Trailfinders.

The American-born forward, 22, joined Ealing this year from Loughborough University and has also spent time at Leicester Tigers - where he played five times.

He comes in as injuries have hit the Pirates' forwards with skipper John Stevens out with a serious knee injury.

“Tomi is a strong ball carrier and is physical, which is just what we need," joint-head coach Alan Paver told the club's website, external.

"Not only is it important for our squad to bring in someone of his quality, but also what goes hand in hand is an opportunity for him to further develop and learn.”
