Leicester Tigers head coach Tom Hudson will leave the Premiership Women's Rugby side at the end of the season.

Hudson's impending departure means Tigers are now looking for their third boss in as many seasons in England's top flight women's competition.

It was only last summer that Hudson stepped up into the role, having been part of Vicky Macqueen's coaching team at Leicester before she left her role as head of women's rugby.

Hudson has overseen just two wins from 13 league games so far this term.

Tigers' heavy 61-12 defeat by Leicestershire rivals Loughborough Lightning on Saturday leaves them second from bottom.

Leicester Tigers general manager Richard Wilks praised Hudson as a "brilliant leader" who has "worked tirelessly" to help establish Leicester in the women's top flight.

"We have made this announcement now to ensure it isn't circulated as rumour and to provide clarity for our playing group approaching the conclusion of their season, while also being up front with Leicester Tigers supporters," Wilks told the club website., external

Hudson's number two Luke Stratford will also leave at the end of the season.

Leicester say they have already begun their search to fill the positions.
