Harlequins have signed experienced scrum-half Stu Townsend from Exeter Chiefs.
The 29-year-old Devonian made more than 120 appearances for the Chiefs during almost a decade with the club, featuring in two Premiership title-winning campaigns as well as their 2020 European Champions Cup triumph.
Townsend played against his new club at The Stoop just over a week ago, scoring a try as the Chiefs were edged out 24-22.
He becomes the second confirmed addition to Quins' squad for next season, following Scotland international hooker George Turner.
"After so many great years at Exeter, the time felt right for a new challenge - somewhere I can push myself, grow as a player, and contribute to something fresh," said Townsend.
"Harlequins is a club steeped in history - the ambition from within and the environment being built really stood out. I can't wait to get started, meet the lads, and get stuck into pre-season."
Quins, who will complete their Premiership season away to Bristol Bears on Saturday, currently lie seventh in the table and are out of play-off contention.
