Falcons appoint Dickens as senior coach

Newcastle Falcons have appointed former England Under-20s boss Alan Dickens as senior coach.
The 48-year-old spent last season at Leicester Tigers as attack and backs coach but has chosen to join the Falcons as part of head coach Steve Diamond's backroom reshuffle for the upcoming season.
Dickens told the club website, external: " When he (Diamond) approached me for the position it was a no-brainer. It’s certainly an exciting time for the club".
Dickens began his coaching career at Northampton Saints following his retirement as a player in 2010 and led the England Under-20s side between 2019 and 2023.
His playing career included spells at Northampton, Leeds, Sale and Saracens.
