Northampton Saints director of rugby Phil Dowson has lauded the "shared community spirit" of the town as it rallies around its rugby union, football and cricket teams.
Supporters of all three have been heard chanting "Shoe Army", in reference to Northampton's links to the shoemaking industry, as a show of solidarity within the town.
Northamptonshire's cricketers beat Surrey last week to reach T20 Blast Finals Day on Saturday, while Northampton Town are 16th in League One after taking seven points from their first six matches this season.
The Saints begin their Prem campaign later this month.
"The town loves sport and you can see that from the way the football is supported, the rugby from my own experience and the cricket," Dowson told BBC Radio Northampton.
"This is a town that has huge heritage in sport. All the players love cricket, are good cricketers and will love to be part of that success."
Dowson added that he tries to watch the football team as much as he can.
"Most of the lads love the football as well - to see the Cobblers doing well, check their results and go to some of the games with family is very positive," he added.
"There is a shared spirit about the sporting community and I'm excited to see the Cobblers play every time I do."
