Wales Under-20 prop Sam Scott has signed a new "long-term" contract with Bristol Bears.

The 19-year-old tighthead was named player of the match as Wales beat Ireland in the Under-20 Six Nations earlier this month.

Scott, who joined the club's academy last summer, played in all five of Wales' matches as they finished third in the tournament for the first time since 2017.

"To have the opportunity to scrum, as a young tighthead, against Ellis Genge and our centurion loose-heads Jake Woolmore and Yann Thomas on a consistent basis has obviously seen him improve," said Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam.

"We saw that improvement during the U20 Six Nations where he performed very well up front."

Scott, who is yet to feature for the Bears, said Bristol was the "perfect club and environment" for him to improve and develop.
