Italy ran in 12 tries to beat Brazil 64-3 and finish the 2025 Women's Rugby World Cup with a bonus-point win.

The bottom two sides in Pool D had already been eliminated after losing their opening two matches, but Italy produced a dominant performance in Northampton to secure third place and preserve their record of winning a match at every Women's World Cup in which they have competed.

World Cup debutants Brazil capitalised on an ill-disciplined start from Italy to take an early lead, Raquel Kochhann kicking a penalty from in front of the posts.

However, Italy hit back with five tries in 12 minutes, exploiting space on both wings and opening up Brazil's defence with rapid offloading. Sara Mannini, Valeria Fedrighi and Francesca Granzotto all went over before Vittoria Minuzzi scored twice down the left wing.

After Brazil had a try chalked off for a knock-on, Granzotto bagged her second of the half, picking off a loose pass to send Italy into the break leading 30-3.

Italy added a further six tries in the second half, with Minuzzi and Granzotto both completing hat-tricks, Gaia Buso scoring twice, and Giada Corradini and Sofia Stefan also going over.

Four of those tries came in the final 10 minutes, when Brazil were first reduced to 14 players after losing Kochhann to injury and then had Tais Prioste sin-binned for a high tackle.

The only blot on Italy's copybook was their kicking, converting just two of their 12 tries.
