Scarlets have confirmed a number of injuries ahead of Saturday's United Rugby Championship (URC) opener away to Benetton.

Prop Harri O’Connor is likely to miss most of the 2024-25 season after tearing his Achilles tendon in last Friday's final pre-season game against Saracens and is set to undergo surgery.

Scrum-half Archie Hughes is also to have surgery on an ankle injury sustained in the pre-season match against Leicester and is likely to be out of action for at least three months.

Centre Eddie James suffered a concussion against Saracens and is undergoing head injury return-to-play protocols.

Tomi Lewis (Achilles), Steff Evans (Achilles), Shaun Evans (knee) and Joe Roberts (knee) are currently on the long-term injury list.
