  1. A 'lack of cohesion' for bothpublished at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    HT: Glasgow Warriors 17-5 Connacht

    John Barclay
Former Scotland captain on Premier Sports

Connacht have had a lot of ball but not done anything with it.

We questioned if there would be a lack of cohesion and we've seen that from both teams. The tries for both teams have come from nothing, all off the cuff moments.

It's not been slick from either team, so the messages at half time will be interesting.

  2. Half-time Glasgow Warriors 17-5 Connachtpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

A depleted Glasgow will be very happy with that.

Although they conceded the first try - a charged down clearance kick - they've responded well and kept Connacht out when the visitors have charged into their territory.

This is a Warriors team with 22 players missing, remember.

Connacht get down into Glasgow's 22m, manipulate the defence, create the overload and then JJ Hanrahan throws an awful forward pass.

He had to get that away, it was a four-on-one!

Fin Richardson bursts through a gap and he's almost away - prop on the loose!

He pops up to Alex Samuel, who has Ben Afshar on his shoulder and the scrum-half pins the ears back and goes over in the corner.

    Weir adds the extras.

    Glasgow Warriors 10-5 Connacht

Glasgow lose the throw on Connacht's five metre-line and the chance is gone. From the next line-out, Johnny Matthews throws squint.

Not what he needs, if he is to force his way into the Scotland squad with Dylan Richardson out.

    Glasgow Warriors 10-5 Connacht

After two consecutive penalties, the referee blows his whistle and indicates time off. That's a few infringements for Connacht now, as Glasgow set up camp in the visiting 22m.

Joe Joyce, the captain, is about to receive a right talking to.

  9. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Glasgow Warriors 10-5 Connacht

With the wind behind him, Duncan Weir has just launched a penalty from his own 50m line to Connacht's 5m line. That is incredible.

    Big chance for Glasgow now.

    Sebastian Cancelliere

    That lead didn't last long!

From a scrappy line-out, Henco Venter carries Glasgow into the Connacht 22m.

They shift it out to the right and Cancelliere sneaks through a gap to score.

It's a pretty soft one to concede and it's come from nowhere, but Glasgow will be delighted.

    David Hawkshaw

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Scotstoun Stadium

Connacht enjoying the lion's share of possession and territory in the opening quarter but have been met by some strong Glasgow resistance in defence.

There's a strong breeze swirling through Scotstoun and at the moment it should be working in Glasgow's favour, but so far they have been unable to get hold of enough ball to make it count.

    Glasgow Warriors 3-0 Connacht

Connacht are knocking on the Glasgow door again but Henco Venter is on hand to turn the ball over at the vital moment.

  16. Penalty GLASGOW WARRIORS 3-0 Connachtpublished at 9 mins

    Duncan Weir

Joe Joyce is pinged for offside by referee Ben Breakspear and Duncan Weir takes the opportunity to call for the tee.

From about 40m out, but straight in front of the sticks, he absolutely leathers it between the posts.

    Glasgow Warriors 0-0 Connacht

Connacht charge up the pitch but a strong hit from Jack Mann is followed up by Fin Richardson turning the ball over.

    Glasgow Warriors v Connacht (15:30)

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Scotstoun Stadium

This game feels very much like an undercard fight ahead of the big championship bout at the top of the bill, with the kick-off of the Six Nations next weekend dominating many people's thoughts.

It's a huge day for Duncan Weir, though. After a 15-year association with the club, today the former Scotland fly-half leads his beloved Glasgow Warriors for the very first time as captain.

He will want to ensure his first taste of the captaincy ends with some precious URC points in the bank as Warriors look to bounce back after last weekend's disappointment against Harlequins in the Champions Cup.

  20. Barclay on Ollie Smith's returnpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Glasgow Warriors v Connacht (15:30)

    John Barclay
Former Scotland captain on Premier Sports

He was getting to the point thinking he was in the Scotland conversation more regularly and then he had a shocker with it, really lengthy return and rehab with his ACL.

Great to have him back. Seeing him at 13 will be interesting, he'll get his hands on the ball a bit more.
