Dan Lancaster can feel a bit hard done by there. The whistle blows for an earlier penalty for Sale but Ben Curry still flies into the Racing number 10.

Lancaster is clearly not happy but his demonstrations hand Sale another 10 yards for their penalty.

George Ford kicks to touch. The hosts want the bonus.

Abraham Papalii is a lucky boy as he avoids any further retribution for a no-arms hit on Thaakir Abrahams. The Munster winger is the latest to exit as he goes off clutching his shoulder and is replaced by Rory Scannell.

    Castres 13-7 Munster

Munster's disastrous injury night continues as Peter O'Mahony limps off after pulling up on his heavily-strapped right ankle. He is replaced by Tom Ahern. Not a bad replacement at all but another big loss for Mike Prendergast's men.

Meanwhile, Castres scrum half Jeremy Fernandez is replaced by the electric Uruguayan Santiago Arata. Munster will need to keep a watchful eye on him.

You do not kick loosely to Tom Roebuck do you, he is so good in the air.

He's been outstanding all game really aerially, and the way he just took that, spun out the tackle, showed his pace and then the offload back inside to Carpenter was just brilliant.

Converted Try - Sale Sharks 19-7 Racing 92published at 51 mins

Joe Carpenter (con Robert du Preez)

This is all about Tom Roebuck.

Racing's Antoine Gibert puts up a crossfield kick but the Sale winger leaps up like a salmon to claim the loose ball above his head and set off down the other end.

Gibert comes across as the last line of defence but Roebuck is able to throw a simple pass back inside for Joe Carpenter to cruise over the line.

Robert du Preez adds the conversion.

When in doubt, hack it forward.

Sale lose control of the ball and Racing boot it as far down the other end as they can.

The white shirts chase after it and Sale knock on under pressure.

    Jeremy Fernandez - 49mins

Not only have Munster failed to take advantage so far of the man advantage but they have actually been under pressure during that spell.

Castres' scrum beasts the Munster pack and, after missing both first half conversions, Jeremy Gonzalez nails the three-pointer off the tee.

No sooner have Castres returned to full strength than Munster have a man advantage again! Winger Geoffrey Palis is binned for a deliberate knock on as Jack Crowley tried to release his backs on the outside.

However, from the lineout, things get messy and it is a scrum down home ball. Frustrating for Munster!

Sale played Harlequins here on the opening day of the Premiership in a game of such poor quality that Sharks boss Alex Sanderson essentially apologised despite winning.

This has not been as dire, but it hasn't been the grab-bag for delights that we might have hoped with the Parisian glamourpusses in town.

And the rain is now coming down hard and heavy.

It's game on, it really is. You thought Sale would potentially pull away, their confidence built steadily through that first half, but Racing came back at the end and hit them.

Sale didn't do much wrong in that first half but fair play to Racing.

    Castres 10-7 Munster

Munster survive a late burst from Jeremy Davidson's men as they overthrow a five metre lineout. The visitors have worked their way back into the game but have had to survive some serious pressure not helped by their own inaccuracies.

They are still very much in this game though going into the second half.
