I feel for the girls in green, that was a different Black Ferns side today, they showed why they are six-time world champions. Their defence wins games and they were phenomenal. It was wonderful to watch.

New Zealand set down a marker. They were untouchable today and were so clinical. Ireland were not at their best they didn't fire any shots, but I think some of that is because New Zealand were so good.

A comprehensive win for New Zealand, who top Pool C and go into the quarter-finals with real confidence.

For Ireland, it was a painful one, they simply weren't at the races and need to dust themselves down ahead of the knockout stages.

  6. try

Converted Try Ireland 0-40 New Zealandpublished at 16:44 British Summer Time

New Zealand sprint away for another try and that allows Holmes to add the extras for hem to hit the 40 point mark.

  7. 'Bad day at the office' for Irelandpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time

    Ireland 0-33 New Zealand

    Katy Daley-Mclean
England's 2014 World Cup winning captain on BBC iPlayer

I think it has just been a bad day at the office for Ireland. We don't need to go too deep, it hasn't been a great performance. Ireland at times have just looked flat.

  8. try

Converted Try Ireland 0-33 New Zealandpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time

    Braxton Sorensen-McGee (con Holmes)

A second hat trick in a row from the winger. More excellent handling off first phase and, of course, Renee Holmes knocks over the extras.

  9. Black Ferns 'so good when they get the ball out'published at 16:37 British Summer Time

    Ireland 0-26 New Zealand

    Anna Caplice
Former Ireland international on BBC Two

Regardless of the outcome there, how long have we looked at Ireland hammering and trying to get something then in a flash of a few seconds we are looking at the other end of the field. New Zealand are so good when they get the ball out, but Ireland have been unable to get points on the board.

    Ireland 0-26 New Zealand

    Katy Daley-Mclean
England's 2014 World Cup winning captain on BBC iPlayer

For Ireland it is not about the score, but to build for next week, getting some success from set piece and try to get a couple of tries and get back into the game.

The answer to the previous question is 'no' as Ireland are penalised for holding on and New Zealand clear.

Ireland are on the Black Ferns' line. Can they get over for their first points of the day?

It's lateral movement and hand speed, all the basic skills. New Zealand have done that so well today.

  17. try

Converted Try: Ireland 0-26 New Zealandpublished at 16:17 British Summer Time

    Braxton Sorensen-McGee (con Holmes)

Brilliant handling again. It's the basics but New Zealand do them so well. A beautiful offload from Stacey Waaka is the highlight as they put the teenager over in the corner again.

It is a bonus point for the Black Ferns and Renee Holmes' touch line conversion is perfect yet again.

It was so close. When Dannah O'Brien kicks it I don't think she realises how much space is in the backline and that there is no Black Fern there. If not, she hits it central. Costigan is always going to win that foot race.

A massive boot from Dannah O'Brien bounces towards the line and Amee-Leigh Costigan chases it.

It bounces agonisingly over the dead ball line. So near yet so far!
