Gloucester legend Jonny May plays his final game for the side he made his debut for as a 19-year-old.

Now 34, the former England winger is the only surviving member of Gloucester's last European triumph in 2015 when they beat Edinburgh.

"I'm very lucky to have won a trophy with Gloucester," May told BBC Points West.

"You don't know when you're a bit younger how often these opportunities are going to come around."

So how is he feeling about the chance to leave with a second trophy?

"I'm pretty nervous, I can feel it in my gut," he added.

"We're going to put it all on the line."

Sharks have a lot of BIG units in their side.

Including 6ft 9ins captain Eben Etzebeth.

The hugely experienced lock has won 119 caps for South Africa and will be one of the key men tonight.

If Gloucester fans weren't already feeling nervous, a large number may well be by now after a disrupted journey that saw a fleet of 25 coaches bringing them here delayed getting to London. Some only arrived in the last 45 minutes.

The 63,000 seater stadium might not be a sell-out but the number of cherry and white shirts inside the ground by far outnumber that of Sharks - not really a surprise for a club that had a 12-hour flight to get here compared to a few hours up the motorway.

It's not quite the Kingsholm Shed but Gloucester players are trying to recreate the same atmosphere as they're used to at home, at what they've called 'Tottenholm' this evening.

The players just gathered in the corner before walking down the touchline to a familiar chant of 'Gloucester, Gloucester' before heading down the tunnel with 10 minutes to go to kick-off.

Both sets of fans have had little to cheer about in their respective leagues this season. The question is who can soften that blow tonight by coming away with a major trophy?

  4. 'People demand 110% from Gloucester'published at 19:51 British Summer Time 24 May 2024

Gloucester have to have a good performance. It's a final.

This is massive for the fans.

If Gloucester win this tonight, you'd have to be pretty sour to still be moaning about their season.

I think it's the tactics and the manner of performances at times that the fans are most bothered about.

If you've got a team busting a gut and there's consistency, you have to accept that you can get beat. This is the bit that grates because it's a bit flip-floppy.

What people demand from the Gloucester shirt is 110% every game, you can't just pick and choose your games.

  5. Skivington 'not feeling pressure' over futurepublished at 19:49 British Summer Time 24 May 2024

Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington says he is "not feeling any pressure" over his future despite their struggles in the Premiership.

The 41-year-old says they made a decision earlier in the year to "go after" the two cups.

"You want to be going to finals and see if the plans are in place and if you've managed to do what you set out to do," he told BBC Five Live Sport.

"I keep myself pretty focused on what I'm doing so what gets said and what doesn't get said isn't really a concern of mine, because I just stay focused on the job. That's not something I'm even thinking about."

Tonight could be one of the great nights for the Cherry and Whites, so let's get the negative stuff out of the way first - their Premiership form.

They finished ninth in the table, only above winless Newcastle, suffered a club-record run of losses, and a 90-0 defeat at Northampton earlier this month.

But their cup displays have been excellent.

George Skivington's side won the Premiership Rugby Cup in March and have been unbeaten in the European Challenge Cup.
