    HT: Edinburgh 12-0 Bayonne

Edinburgh's attacking intent was there for all to see in that first half, even if it didn't always come off.

However, in stark contrast to Darcy Graham on the opposite flank, Duhan van der Merwe was hardly involved in the opening 40 minutes.

Do Edinburgh need to get the ball in his hands more, or is it about him coming off his flank?

Either way, if his shiny new contract is to be value for money, Edinburgh need to get more out of the Scotland winger.

Incredible intensity and speed to the game.

It's been brilliant to watch - a lot of errors, a lot of turnovers, but plenty of attacking intent.

Brilliant work from Magnus Bradbury wins Edinburgh a penalty at the breakdown, and keeps Bayonne out.

It's a huge boost for the hosts, and they head down the tunnel for a well-earned breather.

    Mosese Tuipulotu

Mosese Tuipluotu's first try in Edinburgh colours.

Darcy Graham's dancing feet take the hosts into Bayonne's 22, and Edinburgh recycle quickly.

Ewan Ashman shows delicate hands to put Tuipulotu through a hole and he cruises over to score under the posts.

Ross Thompson nails a simple conversion, and Edinburgh lead by 12.

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Five minutes to the break, and for all the action we've had, Matt Currie's try remains the only score of any kind.

Paul Hill is off with a knock for Edinburgh, and is replaced by Javan Sebastian.

  8. Postpublished at 34 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Another Edinburgh error - this time Ali Price throwing a panicked pass - almost results in a Bayonne try.

Tom Spring hacks the loose ball into open field, but his footballing skills let him down and the ball dribbles into touch.

  9. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Visiting number eight Rodrigo Bruni inexplicably plays the ball despite being miles offside, and Edinburgh kick towards the corner.

A really untidy throw from Ewan Ashman results in a knock-on though.

The game's become rather scrappy in the last five minutes - it just needs someone to calm it all down a wee bit.

  10. Postpublished at 28 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

A sloppy pass from Bayonne scrum-half goes to ground, and Pierre Shoeman smashes the unfortunate recipient backwards.

Edinburgh then win a penalty at the next breakdown and kick to touch.

  11. Postpublished at 26 mins

The game's first significant pause comes about with a scrum being reset several times.

Edinburgh are back up to 15 players and win a penalty after shoving Bayonne back.

  12. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Edinburgh win a breakdown penalty, and Darcy Graham goes quickly to take the hosts into Bayonne's half.

This game is being played at a ridiculous pace - it's been a great watch so far.

  13. Sin-bin Esteban Capilla (Bayonne)published at 16 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

The visitors have been sloppy since Edinburgh went down to 14, losing a couple of lineouts, and they also lose a player.

Esteban Capilla takes a player beyond the horizontal in a tackle, and although he looks shocked by the decision, he's shown a yellow card.

  14. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Bayonne kick the resulting penalty to the corner, but Grant Gilchrist gets up brilliantly to steal the lineout.

  15. Sin-bin Magnus Bradbury (Edinburgh)published at 13 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Magnus Bradbury is shown yellow, with the force of the tackle not deemed strong enough for it to be red.

    He's lucky, for mine.

  16. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Edinburgh 5-0 Bayonne

Magnus Bradbury has gone into a tackle very upright, and might be in serious bother here.

The officials are checking for head contact.

    Matt Currie

Matt Currie - who signed a new deal with Edinburgh this week - finishes it off, but the opening try is all about Darcy Graham.

Wes Goosen floats a pass over the top into Graham's path, who steps away from Aurelien Callandret like he's not there.

Currie is inside the Scotland winger and strolls away to score in the corner.

Ross Thompson's conversion attempt is pushed wide.
