    What a start from Toulouse!

Attacking off a Leinster box kick, Toulouse work the ball outside their opponent's narrow defence and things open up off of a great Emmaneuel Meafou offload.

Toulouse get over the line but it'll not be a try with Jamison Gibson-Park having tackled Antoine Dupont into touch just before the scoring pass.

A real warning shot for Leinster.

  8. Will 80 minutes be enough?published at 14:41 British Summer Time 25 May

    Leinster v Toulouse (14.45 BST)

Twice before in the various guises of this competition extra-time has been required in the final...with Toulouse winning on both occasions in 1995 and 2006.

A reminder that if we're level after 80 minutes, there will be two ten-minute periods of extra-time played.

If the scores are still tied, the winner is then decided on try count and, if even that can't separate the teams, we go to a place kick competition.

Toulouse have recent experience of just such a scenario, of course, advancing past Leinster's Irish rivals Munster after a shoot-out in a 2022 quarter-final.

From the roars when Leinster ran down the tunnel, to a few boos for Toulouse when they jogged off.

It is clear the Irish have travelled.

The atmosphere is bouncing and it hasn't even kicked off yet. Plenty of red too, just happens there are lots and lots of blue around the press box...

When, after failing to win a World Cup on home soil last year, Antoine Dupont quickly turned his attention to representing the French Sevens side at the Paris Olympics, it was a huge story across the rugby world.

The Toulouse star isn't the only player lining up today expected to be in the French capital this summer, though.

Leinster fullback Hugo Keenan is set to make a return to the short-sided code after this afternoon's game.

Josh van der Flier's tears said it all.

At the end of a scintillating Champions Cup final 12 months ago, as the La Rochelle players celebrated one of European rugby's all-time comebacks, the World Rugby player of the year broke down as the devastation of another near-miss set in.

Leinster also lost the 2022 final to La Rochelle in dramatic circumstances but last year felt particularly painful.

Paul Costes only turned 21 in April and is starting a European Cup final.

I first came across the young centre last year when he was playing for France Under-20s against Ireland in the World Rugby Under 20 Championship final.

He was utterly immense that day and caused havoc throughout – looking a cut above the rest on show – to help France become the best in the world again at that level.

Not massive for a 13, but keep an eye on his footwork and offloading game.

Could well head on France's summer tour to Argentina.

For Toulouse, 2021 winner Antoine Dupont has again been nominated.

  14. How did we get here?published at 14:23 British Summer Time 25 May

    Leinster v Toulouse (14.45 BST)

After losing three knock-out games to La Rochelle in the past three seasons, including the two most recent finals, Leinster finally advanced past Ronan O'Gara's men this time around.

They beat the back-to-back champions in the pool stages before an emphatic quarter-final win in Dublin. Sandwiched in between was a last-16 victory over Leicester Tigers and in the last four a heart in mouth triumph over Northampton when the Saints came perilously close to exacting revenge for that infamous Leinster comeback in the 2011 final.

Toulouse have also had plenty of experience with English opposition this season, beating Harlequins in both the pool stages and a semi-final, while also overcoming Bath and Exeter during the campaign.

You will know all about Tottenham Hotspur Stadium if you are a Premier League football fan.

Antoine Dupont may not but he is as impressed as I am.

"We'd seen pictures of the stadium, but it's quite impressive," said Investec Player of the Year nominee Dupont. "It's a stadium where there's rarely any rugby.

"It's got some unusual dimensions, with a very small end zone and touchlines very close to the slope next to it. It's good to have been able to familiarise ourselves with it.

"You have to be able to enjoy moments like these, in such a beautiful stadium where I hope we will have a lot of Stade Toulousain supporters in the stands.

"These are great moments. It's still a special match, in a special stadium, but we need to keep the spontaneity that characterises us."

  16. Fine ninespublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 25 May

    Leinster v Toulouse (14.45 BST)

With the two sides boasting so many internationals, it's no surprise that there are some mouth-watering positional battles in store in London this afternoon.

Antoine Dupont missed France's Six Nations meeting against Ireland as he was with the Sevens preparing for this summer's Paris Olympics, but he is back to lead out his club side this afternoon.

Toulouse's number nine may well be the best player in the world but Jamison Gibson-Park has emerged as one of the finest scrum-halves on the planet too.

"These are the moments you dream of in my position," Gibson-Park said of his head-to-head with Dupont.

"He's the number one player, the best player in the world these last few seasons."

This is the second of EPCR's flagship competitions to be decided at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.

Last night the Sharks became the first of the South African franchises to win what was once a European trophy, beating Premiership strugglers Gloucester in the Challenge Cup final.

The win for the Sharks ensures both their and Leicester Tigers' place in the Champions Cup next season, while also meaning a top seven finish in the United Rugby Championship will be required to book a spot in the premier competition for 2024/25.

At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this afternoon, there's no place in the Leinster panel for Spurs supporter Garry Ringrose.

The Irish centre has been out of action since the final game of the Six Nations and, despite returning to training this week, did not get the nod from Leo Cullen.

His fellow co-captain James Ryan, who returned from a bicep injury against Ulster last week, has to make do with a place on the bench.

For Toulouse, the biggest call sees Scotland fullback Blair Kinghorn picked ahead of Thomas Ramos.

Leinster: Keenan; Larmour, Henshaw, Osborne, Lowe; R Byrne, Gibson-Park; Porter, Sheehan, Furlong, McCarthy, Jenkins, Baird, Connors, Doris (capt).

Replacements: Kelleher, Healy, Ala'alatoa, Ryan, Conan, McGrath, Frawley, Van der Flier.

Toulouse: Kinghorn; Mallia, Costes, Ahki, Lebel; Ntamack, Dupont (capt); Baille, Mauvaka, Aldegheri, Flament, Meafou, Willis, Cros, Roumat.

Replacements: Marchand, Neti, Merkler, Arnold, Brennan, Graou, Chocobares, Ramos.

    Everyone loves a fan zone!

I got chatting to two Leinster fans on the train on Friday, who were off to the Challenge Cup final between Sharks and Gloucester, which Sharks won.

I asked what time they were heading to the stadium today, the response was they heard rumours the fan zone opens at 09:30 BST.

I have not spotted my new friends from Dublin, but since I arrived it has been fairly full and is only getting busier.

Loads of blue and red with plenty of random club shirts for fans who booked a ticket at the start of the season.

A super friendly pre-game atmosphere. Whether it did open in the early hours I still don't know, something tells me they might have been having me on though.
