FT: Ulster 42-21 Dragons
Tom O'Toole speaking to Premier Sports:
"It was great to be back playing at home under the lights and we really enjoyed ourselves out there. Still some bits to work on ahead of going to Edinburgh next week.
We have an idea of what they will bring having payed them in pre-season and we are still hurting from the defat at the end of last season so we will look to put that right."
Certainly things to work on for Richie Murphy but that is to be expected on opening night. Putting up six converted tries and some of the ambitious, if not always accurate, rugby was lovely to watch.
The Dragons' lightning start seems a long time ago but they contributed to an entertaining night at the Affidea Stadium.
All in all, a successful return to competitive action for Ulster.
A brilliant kick out of hand from Tinus De Beer is played by Jack Murphy when he didn't have to and it gives the visitors a lineout deep in the Ulster red zone.
They go quick and scrum half Rhrodri Williams goes over but the offload off the deck from Huw Anderson is ever-so-slightly forward and Ulster win a scrum penalty to clear their lines.
A warning shot with a quarter of an hour to go that shows this game is not in the bag yet for Richie Murphy's men.
Strong Ulster ruck defence sees them win two turnovers in quick succession at the breakdown. That will certainly please new Defence Coach Willie Falloon who was a proponent of that himself in his pomp!
Converted Try Ulster 35-21 Dragonspublished at 21:11 BST 26 September

Shane Lewis-Hughes (con De Beer)
The Dragons stay patient and they do get their try as blindside flanker Shane Lewis-Hughes goes over. Tinus De Beer adds the extras as the two kickers are eight out of eight from the tee tonight.
That, at least, stems Ulster's flow for now anyway.
