'It could be anybody' - Shinty title race wide open

All shinty and hockey in Scotland has been postponed until further notice following the outbreak of coronavirus, and horse racing at Kelso will be behind closed doors on Monday.

The Camanachd Association and Scottish Hockey made the call after government guidance and issues with facilities closing and players self-isolating.

The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) are awaiting further guidance from the Scottish government, but say the number of staff and participants would be below 500.

The BHA have "contingency plans" in place and are "currently considering a range of options".

The next Scottish meet is scheduled for Musselburgh on Friday 20 March, with another at Kelso on the calendar for the following day.

The Camanachd Association say they felt "it is incumbent on us to postpone all matches", while Scottish Hockey added that "the decision has been made in the interests of the health and safety of players, match officials, and staff".

Scottish Golf have also announced the cancellation of the Scottish Boys' and Girls' Opens at North Berwick and Powfoot (8-10 April) and the Helen Holm Scottish Women's Open at Royal Troon (17-19 April).
