Welsh skeet shooter Ben Llewellin has won a silver medal at the ISSF World Cup in Cairo.

Llewellin qualified second for the final with his score of 123/125, and after a poor start rose up the leader board to challenge for gold.

But he could not catch Egypt's Azmy Mehelba who finished on 55/60 compared to Llewellin's 51/60.

"That was one of the hardest finals I've ever been in," Llewellin said.

"It has definitely taken its toll on me and the other competitors too, but I'm feeling amazing to come away with another medal, especially this early in the year.

"It really sets the tone and hopefully there are plenty more to come."

Llewelllin will be back in World Cup action on Wednesday and will join Alexandra Skeggs in the mixed team skeet event, alongside Mitchell Brooker-Smith and Jessica Burgess.
