Ronnie O'Sullivan to play Judd Trump in Champions final

Five-time world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan will play fellow Englishman Judd Trump in Sunday's Champion of Champions final in Coventry.

O'Sullivan, 38, beat China's Ding Junhui 6-4 on Saturday to continue the defence of the title he won last year.

"Ding played great but delighted to make it through. Looking forward to the final," O'Sullivan tweeted.

Trump edged a tactical 10th frame to beat Australian world number two Neil Robertson 6-4 in his semi-final.

O'Sullivan, who is still seeking his first title of the current season, made breaks of 91 and 125 to win the last two frames against world number three Ding.

Meanwhile, Trump, 25, had to hold off a spirited fightback from Robertson, which included a 117 clearance to make it 5-4 after being 4-2 down.

In a scrappy 10th frame, where both players needed the black to win, Trump eventually held his nerve to pot in the top left corner to triumph 71-62.

"There were a lot of times in that game where my head could have dropped," the Bristol-born player told ITV 4. "Maybe a few years ago I would have continued taking the shots and missing and handing it to him."

Sunday's final at the Ricoh Arena will be played over 19 frames, with £100,000 for the winner.
