Mark Selby is looking very good indeed here.A superb 108 clearance allows him to put another frame on the board. This is looking ominous for Ali Carter.
Shaun Murphy
2005 world champion on BBC Four
Mark Selby now knows that Ali did not fancy that shot. Sometimes you have to fake it even if you don't fancy it to send the right message.
Mark does seem to win more than his fair share of those types of frames. There were some very clever safety shots played by both players. I would not say it is worrying times for Ali Carter yet but that frame will hurt.
John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Four
Mark Selby did what Mark Selby does. Pinch a frame that he had no right to win.
Selby 2-0 Carter
A long drawn out frame goes Mark Selby's way (don't most?) after Ali Carter is unable to nudge the brown off the top cushion to while potting the green.
What a steal from Selby.
Selby 1-0 Carter
A decent start for Mark Selby, who makes a break of 62 on his way to winning the first frame.
When the four-time world champion is in the mood he is difficult to stop.
Before we get too much into this contest, Ronnie O'Sullivan has been speaking on Eurosport about his decision to withdraw from the Masters this year.
O'Sullivan, who has won the tournament a record eight times said: "It was a nightmare decision really to make.
"If you had asked me on Sunday if I was ready to play I’d probably have been okay to play. It is such a massive tournament, I’ve obviously been on this three-week trip, away playing and I think I just exhausted myself.
"[There was] A lot of pressure while I was away and the build up of all that kind of got too much. I lost the plot on Thursday and snapped my cue so that’s unplayable, so I just knew at that moment in time the right decision was not to play.
"It’s such a big tournament I felt whoever was going to come in should at least have a couple of days notice."
Selby v Carter
Right here we go again. The first frame is under way and Mark Selby v Ali Carter could be an absolute cracker.
Williams 5-6 Ding
A wonderful break of 90 allows Ding Junhui to advance past Mark Williams.
Williams 5-5 Ding
Snooker is a crazy game at times. Ding Junhui smashes the reds everywhere with a wild shot but then ends up the beneficiary of his own mistake as Mark Williams is not left with a pot.
Ding then returns to the table and enjoys a run of 76 to set up a final-frame decider.
Williams 5-4 Ding
What a frame of snooker. Ding Junhui makes a break of 66 and then misses a black off its spot.
Mark Williams needs blacks with all five reds remaining and gets them before going on to pinch the frame by a point.
Williams 4-4 Ding
Mark Williams take a bow. The Welsh potting machine knocks in a sublime break of 136 to level the contest again. You would not bet against there being a decider in this contest.
Williams 3-4 Ding
The finish line is in sight and Ding Junhui takes the seventh frame of the match to move within two of victory.
Neither player has hit top form so far and a break of 60 just about gets the player from China over the line there.
Williams 3-3 Ding
We are down to a best-of-five encounter as Ding Junhui draws level thanks largely to a break of 64.
Mark Williams got in first there but missed a very difficult red to the middle pocket to allow his opponent a chance, which he took.
Williams 3-2 Ding
Just signs that Mark Williams has found his groove. The two-time winner enjoys a run of 70 as he goes into the lead for the first time in the match.

Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two
The way Mark Williams surgically goes through these breaks even when he is not playing well is the ultimate. It doesn't bother him if the balls are awkward. He puts everything into his clearances.
Ding would have been thinking, 'I am going to get back to the table' but he didn't get another chance.
