More from Kyren Wilson speaking to BBC Sport: "I am really looking forward to it [the final]. Shaun [Murphy] has had a fantastic week, he should have had two 147s. Let's hope he does not make another maximum because he'll be on for a fortune.

It was a very strange performance from Judd Trump after the way he beat Ding Junhui. He kind of collapsed in the last four frames. All credit to Kyren he found a gear and Judd didn't.

  4. 'I am not happy to leave it there'published at 23:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 3-6 Wilson

World champion Kyren Wilson speaking to BBC Sport after reaching the final of the Masters, where he will now meet Shaun Murphy: "He’s been so successful and so, so hard to beat. I really had to dig in today but thank you to the crowd because they gave me the adrenalin I needed.

"I've had an amazing season but I am not happy to leave it there and I want to add more to it.

"Without sounding cocky you feel like the man because it does not get any better than being world champion. A lot has been made of his season and he's broken a new record for earning the most money on tour.

"He'd have gone into that in his own mind as a big favourite but I always fancy it. You wipe the slate clean in the Masters. You all start from scratch."

  8. Wilson closes in on finalpublished at 22:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 3-5 Wilson

World number one Judd Trump is having quite a season having already won three titles this term to surpass Ronnie O'Sullivan's record for the most prize money earned in a season.

But despite his earnings for 2024-25 approaching £1.3m, he is looking like a man under pressure at the moment.

There have been some uncharacteristic missed pots and Kyren Wilson is handed several opportunities in frame eight, which he eventually exploits with a break of 85 to move one frame away from the final.

  9. Wilson edges back in frontpublished at 21:50 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 3-4 Wilson

Judd Trump goes for and misses a high-tariff black to the right corner and pays the price.

Kyren Wilson looks to have regained his earlier rhythm and threatens to make a century but is unable to drop the pink in while on 88.

  10. Wilson responds to levelpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 3-3 Wilson

Just what Kyren Wilson would have wanted.

He constructs a very good break of 76 and we are back to level pegging.

    This is boiling up nicely.

It got silly in that frame. Judd Trump earned about 50 points in fouls.

  12. Trump wins longest frame of match to leadpublished at 21:16 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 3-2 Wilson

That has to go down as a bad miss as Judd Trump smashes a red into the jaws of the left corner pocket and sees it bounce out.

He was on 35 there but has put Kyren Wilson in to bat so to speak and the 2018 finalist starts knocking in ball after ball before missing the yellow with the fishing tackle on 60.

That allows Trump to stick him in snooker and turn a 23-point deficit into a one-point advantage.

Another couple of fouls make Trump favourite for the frame and Wilson then adds another two misses on the blue to that tally meaning he's conceded 43 points in fouls and needs a snooker.

There's still mileage in this though as the world champion gets a snooker of his own and five points back. But when given half a chance, Trump snicks the blue into the top right corner and takes the lead for the first time in the match. The frame finished 95-70!

Watch Murphy's maximum break in Masters semi-final

Given it's the interval and there is some time to kill, this has to be worth a watch from earlier on Saturday.

Stephen Hendry called this when Shaun Murphy was on 16!

With Kyren you have a player who has his game on the up. If you are going to have a crack at this maybe it is his best chance so far in his career because the confidence you get as world champion has to count for something.

  15. 'It could yet be a classic'published at 20:25 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 2-2 Wilson

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

As in a lot of best-of-11 matches when you have two of the top players in the world, it is brewing. There has not been anything spectacular yet but there is enough evidence to suggest it could yet be a classic.

  16. Trump draws levelpublished at 20:22 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 2-2 Wilson

What a fluke. Judd Trump pots a red into the bottom right pocket having originally tried to find the left corner.

Not sure Kyren Wilson can quite believe that but the spin and and glance off the black does puts his opponent in prime position.

All of the sudden the world number one is motoring...until a far from straightforward plant to the left middle goes wrong on 52.

The world number two has his work cut out though and reaches 27 points before over cutting a red to the left corner. That allows Trump to get over the line and draw level as the players head into the mid-session interval.

Judd needed that frame. These players are good enough to run away with matches. It was a break he needed to make and you can only pounce on those mistakes if you are in good form.

  18. Trump pulls frame backpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 1-2 Wilson

Judd Trump gets a frame on the board.

The world champion got a little unlucky when on 44 to run out of position and when an attempted safety nudges a red towards the right middle, the two-time winner is ready and waiting and crafts a lovely 85.

Kyren Wilson looks very sharp. He looks up for this and he took that chance very well.

  20. Wilson extends early leadpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January

    Trump 0-2 Wilson

Judd Trump runs out of position on 37 when a cannon into the pink to split the pack goes wrong.

And when Kyren Wilson flicks in a long red he's back in the mix. One good positional shot to flick a red over the middle and potting one down the bottom cushion are pivotal as he enjoys a run of 89 to extend his lead.
