  1. Wilson wins opening framepublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time

    Trump 0-1 Wilson

A mixed bag. Judd Trump is in but misses a relatively simple shot to the left middle.

Kyren Wilson can't win the frame from there but then gets back in after Trump leaves a red over the bottom left corner and break of 61 enables him to take the opener.

    Trump v Wilson

Judd Trump's win over Kyren Wilson at the same stage of UK Championship failed to scale the heights of the expected blockbuster between the top two ranked players in the world.

But there is absolutely nothing not to look forward to about this contest.

Shaun Murphy speaking to BBC Sport after compiling a 147 on his way to reaching the final of the Masters: "I can't believe it. It was an incredible moment, one of the best of my snooker career,"

"I have wanted to make a 147 in one of the BBC events since I was a child. I had a great opportunity the other day and totally messed it up. I had great support from the crowd, who were absolutely amazing.

"I must pay tribute to Mark as well, who played his part in what I thought was a great match. He is so hard and tough and played really well. I had a bit of luck at the right time which you always need.

"He has become one of the living great players of the game. He just needs that World Championship which I am sure he will get at some stage."

  8. Murphy seals place in finalpublished at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time

    Allen 3-6 Murphy

Shaun Murphy reaches his first Masters final since 2015.

And he does it by winning a safety battle on the green and then knocking in the colours needed.

What a superb performance from 'the Magician'.

    Allen 3-4 Murphy

Wonderful response from Mark Allen, who wins a very timely and important frame.

Shaun Murphy, perhaps with the adrenalin still flowing is unable to make the most of a couple of good chances to make sizable breaks and is punished by the world number four, who is very relieved when a crucial brown, drops into the top left corner after wobbling in the jaws.

It was immaculate. It was so simple because everything about it was perfect.

Absolutely fantastic break from start to finish. It was the perfect maximum break. To hold himself together as well, it was brilliant.

    The crowd loved it.

It is tough because your heart is racing and you have to be able to keep calm.

Any player who makes two 147s across the three Triple Crown events and the Saudi Arabia Masters collects that hefty sum.

    Wow.

Shaun Murphy may have missed out against Neil Robertson but he compiles only the sixth 147 maximum break in the history of the Masters.

Shaun Murphy is growing in confidence and unless he plays a bad shot there is no reason to play for any other colour than the black.

    Allen 2-3 Murphy

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

You watch how Shaun Murphy delivers the cue. He does it properly. The cue does the work. There has been a sea change in this.

It is almost like Mark Allen needs a good chance in this because he is not scoring.

  18. Murphy turns things aroundpublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time

    Allen 2-3 Murphy

What a turnaround. Shaun Murphy barely got any time at the table at all in the opening two frames but now leads.

The Englishman knocks in sensational long red to get up and running in the fifth frame and another straight after a difficult blue on his way to a half century but then misses a black.

When Mark Allen is unable to stun a long red into the right corner, the 2015 champion is able to hoover up enough points to go ahead.

    Allen 2-2 Murphy

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion on BBC One

It is the hallmark of Shaun's game [long potting]. He was in trouble with the safety shot and that pot on the opening red is one of the shots of the championship.

When he is cueing well, it is how you want to see him play. When he sees a long pot, he needs to go for them because it is a big part of his game and he needs to keep the frames as open as possible.

Shaun Murphy levels the match with a break of 83, the highest of the match so far.

And it all comes after he knocks in a trademark long red and gets a lovely cannon to get on the black.

The contest is now delicately poised as we head to the mid-session interval.
