Hi do you all have snooker tables in your houses?

    Kathy

Phil: Not me, Kathy, played a lot when I was younger on a 6ft x 3ft in my parents' garage, but not properly for about 15 years. Highest break of 24 on a full table.

Frank: Was a junior member at Dunstable Snooker Club. Highest break 25.

Mark Williams starts frame 16 well and there are a couple of open reds to go at. A chance to build a lead.

It's lovely to look up at the scoreboard and see double figures next to your name.

The next two frames are huge.

    Final: Williams 5-10 Zhao

Zhao Xintong is unable to knock in his third century of the final but will take an break of 96 as he is back into a five-frame lead.

This second session has been a lot more even - Mark Williams has won four of the seven frames so far - but Zhao will be happy enough to share the frames from here because it means he will be world champion.

Look at those names in the background.

Will Zhao Xintong's name be among the champions come Monday night?

He's on a break of 43 as he looks to restore his five-frame advantage.

    Final: Williams 5-9 Zhao

Mark Williams has to settle for a break of 23.

Zhao Xintong is left a pot on a red to the left centre and he sends the cue ball around the back of the black spot to land perfectly on the blue.

    Chance.

I let out an "ohhhh" at the same time as commentator Ken Doherty as it became clear that Mark Williams had dropped in a long red at a snail's pace. Brilliant shot. Got me a couple of funny looks in the office, mind.

A split of the reds doesn't leave Williams on much - but another long red, this time into the top corner, finds the pocket.

If you give Mark two of the next three frames, he'd bite your hand off.

He looks like he could do it as well, he's in the ascendancy. Mark is nowhere near his best but he's digging in.

Zhao Xintong doing his best to even things up. Made some bizarre shot choices in the last two frames. Mark doesn’t need a second invitation. Maybe this won’t be a non-event after all.

  10. Williams wins anotherpublished at 20:48 British Summer Time 4 May

    Final: Williams 5-9 Zhao

Mark Williams is 68 points up with 67 remaining. A tough frame-ball red awaits with the spider - but it drops and that should be 9-5.

And indeed it is - a 72 break does the job.

    Final: Williams 4-9 Zhao

Let's say Mark Williams wins this mini-session after the interval 4-1 - that would leave him 10-7 behind overnight.

Would the three-time champion settle for that?

    Steve Sutcliffe
BBC Sport at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield

The Crucible almanac is a handy tool to have. It contains all sorts of facts and figures about the World Championship.

And here's one of real pertinence. The biggest deficit after the opening day of a final from which a player has come back to win is 10-6.

That has happened three times; Stephen Hendry v Jimmy White in 1992, Mark Williams v Matthew Stevens in 2000 and Shaun Murphy v Stevens in 2005.

In 1992, White ended up going 12-6 and 14-8 up against Hendry, while Stevens also extended his lead to 13-7 on the Monday against Williams.

  13. A quarter-final classicpublished at 20:40 British Summer Time 4 May

    Final: Williams 4-9 Zhao

Mark Williams was one pot away from going out of this World Championship at the quarter-final stage.

He was involved in a classic last-eight tie with fellow "Class of 92" graduate John Higgins, which went all the way to the final frame and was not decided until the very last black.

Having trailed 9-3, Williams would surely take another decider in the final.

And he's in at the start of frame 14 after Zhao Xintong misses a long red.

  14. Williams back within five framespublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 4 May

    Final: Williams 4-9 Zhao

Zhao Xintong comes back to the table needing four snookers to win the frame - maybe to just get a bit of rhythm back after the mid-session interval.

    Eventually the concession comes.

There have been plenty of non-events in this championship and this looking like another one. Zhao Xintong hasn’t even got out of first gear and he’s six ahead.

    Final: Williams 3-9 Zhao

Mark Williams had to play safe in that previous break but he's got a 26-point lead as the players exchange safety shots.

Now there's a chance of a long red for the Welshman. He fully commits, floats it in and lands on a choice of colours - none of which are ideal for position.

Another big shot ahead - a mid-distance red - which goes in and it must surely be a frame-winner.

    Final: Williams 3-9 Zhao

Mark Williams runs out of position but pots a great long green to get back to the reds. Wonderful.

"That is the shot of a champion," says Ken Doherty in commentary.

Williams had had to work hard during this break but he's still at the table and 25 ahead with five reds left.

Zhao Xintong misses a black, bringing his break to an end on 14.

Mark Williams could badly do with a frame-winning visit here.

Is this the first all left-handed world snooker final?published at 20:23 British Summer Time 4 May

When was the last time there were two left-handed snooker players in the World Championship final?

    Mark from Beverley

We can answer that for you, Mark. This is the first time.

There have only been three left-handed world champions - Mark Williams, Neil Robertson and Judd Trump.
