Judd Trump has won this trophy before, becoming world champion in 2019 and he's also lost twice in the final - in 2011 and 2022.
The 34-year-old came into this tournament as number two in the world with five ranking titles under his belt already this season, but he wants more.
“The worlds is special and all the greats have managed to win it multiple times," said Trump. "I don’t know when the prime is in snooker, but I feel I’m somewhere there or thereabouts.
"Unless I win here it’s a failure for me. If I go home from a tournament and I’ve not won, it’s a failure. It’s a horrible feeling losing and anything less than a win is not good enough.
“A lot of people compare me to John [Higgins], Ronnie [O'Sullivan] and Mark [Williams] but I compare myself to people of my own age.
"There’s no point comparing me to someone 14 years older than me. They’ve had 42 more chances to win a Triple Crown so it’s unfair. I can only go up against people of my age and when I look at that I’m doing pretty well."

Oh....uncharacteristic miss from Trump. Looked like he took his eye off that one. And Ford pots the red to get in.
