Jersey’s Filip Nowacki has won silver in the 200m breaststroke at the European Junior Championships.
The 16-year-old also broke the British age group record as he finished in 2:12.74 in Vilnius.
He was 0.08 seconds behind Turkey’s gold medallist Doruk Yogurtcuoglu.
It is the second time this year Nowacki has broken a British record after surpassing the 100m breaststroke mark in April.
The medal is the latest in international meets for Nowacki, who is tipped to have Olympic potential.
He won silver at last year’s European Youth Olympics and also won three medals for Jersey at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games.
He still has the 100m breaststroke to come, having reached the semi-finals of the 50m breaststroke on Tuesday.
