Jersey's Josh Band has made it through to the main draw at the US Open Table Tennis Championships in Las Vegas.
It is the first time the islander has progressed to the knockout stages on the Pro Tour.
The 19-year-old beat America's Basir Sabeti to reach the main event, having lost a qualifying match against Canada's top seed, Xavier Therien.
Band faces the number 14 seed Jishan Liang from the USA in the first round of the competition.
