British teenager Oliver Golding given Queen's wildcard

British teenager Oliver Golding has been handed a wildcard for the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club, which starts in London on Monday.

The 17-year-old was beaten 6-1 6-1 by Bjorn Fratangelo in the last eight at the French Open juniors on Thursday.

Goulding and doubles partner Jiri Vesely were also beaten by Mitchell Krueger and Shane Vinsan in the boys' last eight in Paris on Thursday.

Britain's number two and three, James Ward and Dan Cox, also have wildcards.

Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic headline the grass tournament.

Four-time winner Andy Roddick and 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro will also compete in the week-long tournament, the traditional curtain-raiser to Wimbledon.

Leon Smith, head of men's tennis at the LTA, said: "All three British players recognise that this is both a huge honour, and a huge opportunity for them.

"I'm expecting them to make the most of this experience, and to build on the progress each of them has made over the past season."

American Ryan Harrison, 19, was the other player to be given one of the remaining four wildcards.

Sam Querrey won the title last year by beating fellow American Mardy Fish in the final.
