Sabine Lisicki set a world record for aces in a women's singles match by firing 27 in her second-round win over Belinda Bencic at the Aegon Classic.
The 2013 Wimbledon finalist hit 16 in the first set and 11 in the second.
"It's obviously a good weapon to have on grass," said the German, 25, after her 6-1 7-6 (7-4) win over her Swiss opponent in Birmingham.
Lisicki eclipsed the mark of 24 aces, held jointly by American Serena Williams and Estonia's Kaia Kanepi.
