Wimbledon 2015: Jamie Murray into men's double last four

Jamie Murray said there is no reason why he and Australian doubles partner John Peers can not go on and win the Wimbledon men's doubles after they secured their place in the semi-final.

Murray, 29, and Peers, 26, won in straight sets against Alexander Peya and Bruno Soares.

They now face Jonathan Erlich and Phillip Petzschner in the last four.

Murray told BBC Scotland: "It's magic. We know we're a good team, we can beat a lot of the top teams in the world."

The Dunblane man was a mixed doubles champion at Wimbledon in 2007, and is dreaming of a Murray double with younger brother Andy going strong in the singles.

While Andy faces Vasek Pospisil on Wednesday, Jamie and partner Peers have led the way after they knocked the Canadian and his partner Jack Sock out of the doubles in five sets on Monday.

He said: "It's great. We played really well today, a really solid performance from start to finish. It's nice to play that level for three sets in a row because in the other match we had been in and out.

"We were good value for a victory today and really looking forward to playing on Thursday.

"For us we really wanted to make a break through in the Grand Slams, get some big results in there, and so far this week we've done that.

"He's (Peers) been a great partner for me since we started playing three years ago. He's got a great serve, that's probably his biggest attribute. He's always super positive, he's got a great energy about him on the court which I need sometimes, and I enjoy playing with him."

Meanwhile Anna Brogan kept up the Scottish success after making it through to the third round of the Girls singles at Wimbledon.

The Glasgwegian faces Anastasia Potapova of Russia next following her 6-1, 6-3 over Katarina Zavatska of Ukraine.

However fellow 17-year-old Maia Lumsden bowed out after a 6-1, 6-1 defeat to highly rated Tornado Alicia Black of America.
