British number one Andy Murray expects Australia's Nick Kyrgios to put recent controversy behind him when they meet in the US Open first round.
The pair will play for a fourth time in the day two night session, which begins at 00:00 BST on Wednesday.
Kyrgios, 20, was fined and given a suspended ban for comments made about Stan Wawrinka's girlfriend during a recent match in Montreal.
"I'd expect him to be ready. He gets fired up for big events," said Murray.
"I think he likes playing on big stages, that's where he's played his best tennis."
Murray backs under-fire Kyrgios
The British number one has backed the Australian to learn from the fall-out from his comments to Wawrinka, and Murray does not plan to be distracted by the furore on Arthur Ashe Stadium.
"For me, it's a tennis match and I go about the match the best way possible by getting all the tactics and everything sorted, tailoring my practice around his game style," said the Scot. "You don't pay attention to the other stuff."
Kyrgios only spoke to a select few outlets before the tournament but was seen smiling and joking with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis - one of those implicated in his on-court comments.
"I guess I'll just learn from it," Kyrgios told the Observer., external "I mean, obviously I wouldn't do it again but I wouldn't say I was embarrassed by it at all. I'm not embarrassed by it."
History favours in-form Murray
Murray has won all three of his previous meetings with Kyrgios without dropping a set, the last two encounters coming at this year's Australian and French Opens.
The third seed also arrives in New York in fine form, having beaten Novak Djokovic to win the Rogers Cup in Montreal and reached the semi-finals in Cincinnati.
Kyrgios reached the fourth round at Wimbledon but has since managed just one win over John Isner in Canada, before Wawrinka retired from their now infamous encounter.
"Every match is a new match," said Murray. "He might come in and do something completely different against me this time so I need to be prepared for that.
"He's quite an unpredictable player so you need to expect that when you go on the court.
"I've played well against him but he's a top player, he just missed out on a seeding here, and I'm sure he'll be one of the top players at this event for the next few years."
Robson returns in Brit pack
Murray leads a British contingent of five players on day two, with former British number one Laura Robson continuing her comeback from wrist surgery.
The 21-year-old is now ranked 618th and has won two of her eight matches since returning from injury during the grass-court season.
She plays Russia's Elena Vesnina in the second match on court 11 at around 18:00 BST.
"I feel a lot fitter, a lot more mentally able to compete with these girls," said Robson. "I feel like my tennis is so much better than it was at Wimbledon."
Robson's match follows compatriot Jo Konta against American wildcard Louisa Chirico on court 11 from 16:00 BST, with Konta going for her 13th straight win of an impressive summer.
Aljaz Bedene, the Slovenia-born British number two, plays Latvian Ernests Gulbis in the second match on court 14, while British number three James Ward plays Brazilian 30th seed Thomaz Bellucci in the second match on court 7.
