    Sinner 3-6 Dimitrov

The crowd are mostly behind Dimitrov at the moment. They like a story and this would be story.

Punishing forehands from the Bulgarian ease him to 30-0 and then a mammoth ace follows. Three set points against the world number one... who saw this coming?

Not Jannik Sinner - and there's nothing he can do as Dimitrov serve-volleys the first of those set points to perfection.

  3. Tauson holds to lovepublished at 19:32 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Swiatek 4-4 Tauson

Clara Tauson holds to love in a first set that has seen momentum swing violently one way then the other.

It is hard to tell what to expect from game to game. Easy hold? Easy break? It feels like there has been no real rhythm to this match so far.

Both players do seem to be settling ever so slightly now so maybe that will change but, honestly, who knows?!

Jannik Sinner has dropped 17 games on his way to the last 16.

If he were to lose nine or less today it would be a record in the Open Era.

Dimitrov is going to do his utmost to not allow that to happen.

  5. 'Sinner is facing a world-class player'published at 19:31 British Summer Time 7 July

    Sinner 3-5 Dimitrov*

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

This is different gravy right now. Jannik Sinner is facing a world-class player on this surface in Grigor Dimitrov.

You want to be tested and right now this is a real test for the world number one.

  6. Dimitrov serving for first setpublished at 19:31 British Summer Time 7 July

    Sinner 3-5 Dimitrov*

With Joe Root and James Anderson among the celebs watching proceedings on Centre Court, Jannik Sinner lands a couple of bouncers of his own, fighting fire with fire serve-wise.

A Federer-esque stylish one-handed backhand from a man once known as 'Baby Fed' gives Grigor Dimitrov a glimmer of hope but it's quickly snuffed out.

He'll have to serve out this first set. Big moments upcoming.

  8. Postpublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 7 July

    Swiatek 4-3 Tauson*

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

    .

I've been hot-footing it between court one and Centre today for three of the women's last 16 matches and I'm now back at one for this one, where it is a bit less breezy than when Belinda Bencic won her match earlier this afternoon.

Iga Swiatek revealed that her bid for a first Wimbledon title was being fueled by the somewhat unusual combination of pasta and strawberries and that may just be kicking in as she gets her nose in front for the first time in this match.

  9. Swiatek holdspublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 7 July

    Swiatek 4-3 Tauson*

Iga Swiatek is ahead of the first time.

An extremely solid hold for the world number four.

There's no sign of those double faults that plagued her first couple of service games and that makes all the difference.

Short points throughout so far with neither player holding back. Sit back and wait for your opponent to make a mistake? Why do that when you can try and hammer winners left, right and centre?!

  10. Dimitrov holds to lovepublished at 19:28 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Sinner 2-5 Dimitrov

Both players stop in their tracks as there's a net cord off a Sinner forehand - but it drops just out, to Grigor Dimitrov's relief.

That's the only moment of bother for the Bulgarian though who commandingly holds to love.

We've spoken about how Sinner has not dropped a set all tournament - but Dimitrov has only lost one himself.

And he's already won more games in just over half an hour against Sinner than two of the Italian's previous opponents managed all match.

  11. 'Very effective tactics from Tauson'published at 19:25 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Swiatek 3-3 Tauson

    Annabel Croft
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live

Iga Swiatek is definitely hanging in there and bringing such intensity to this match court.

I think the way Clara Tauson is playing here is very effective. She is using a lot of serves out wide on an acute angle, playing it into that forehand side, but she is also going very hard and flat into that forehand to take away as much time as she can.

Swiatek's forehand is quite an ugly shot, it's got quite a curly-wurly swing and she has a bent arm on it, so she isn't getting time to get her arm underneath the balls. Very effective tactics from Tauson.

  12. Swiatek breaks backpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Swiatek 3-3 Tauson

Iga Swiatek breaks back for the second time in the set.

It's a frustrating game for Clara Tauson, who kept going for the big shots that have helped her to break twice, but seemed to lose her radar.

A number of booming forehands sail long and wide to help Swiatek get back on serve.

  13. Postpublished at 19:24 British Summer Time 7 July

    Sinner 2-4 Dimitrov*

It's still just the one break, though.

Fine hold from Jannik Sinner, sealed with an excellent deep second serve to the Dimitrov body that does not make it back over the net.

  14. 'Good work from Dimitrov'published at 19:21 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Sinner 1-4 Dimitrov

    Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC Two

I like this from Dimitrov. He is changing the pace and the spins and using the slice backhand to get the forehand into play.

You can see how hard it is for him already though to try and keep his nose in front. He needs to make sure he is getting up after his serve.

  15. Dimitrov saves break-back pointpublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Sinner 1-4 Dimitrov

From break point down, Grigor Dimitrov unleashes three gigantic serves.

If he keeps bringing these to proceedings, this could get very, very interesting.

  16. Swiatek holds to lovepublished at 19:20 British Summer Time 7 July

    Swiatek 2-3 Tauson*

Now a love hold for Iga Swiatek.

No double-faulting issues this time and the Pole cruises through this service game.

After three games in which holding serve looked so tricky, we've had two where you're wondering how the break opportunities ever arrived.

  17. Tauson holds to lovepublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 7 July

    *Swiatek 1-3 Tauson

A hold! And a comfortable one at that.

After her troubles in her previous service game, Clara Tauson looks far more comfortable.

She gets the serve going and backs it up with some solid groundstrokes to consolidate the break.

  18. 'Sinner doesn't have any panic in him'published at 19:18 British Summer Time 7 July

    Sinner 1-3 Dimitrov*

    Greg Rusedski
Former British number one on BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds

Jannik Sinner is just starting to settle here, don't discount the world number one yet.

He doesn't have any panic in him. He has an interesting background because he was originally a downhill skier, so he says tennis is easy because you always get a second chance. His mindset is impeccable.

I think he is the mentally-toughest player out there on tour at the moment.

  19. Postpublished at 19:17 British Summer Time 7 July

    Sinner 1-3 Dimitrov*

From 15-15, Jannik Sinner does well to get his racquet on two monstrous Dimitrov serves but cannot return either.

But he's not the world number one for nothing - grinds his way back into the game as a wonderful backhand winner ends a captivating rally of dicing and slicing. Deuce.

  20. Mixed fortunes in the mixed doublespublished at 19:16 British Summer Time 7 July

The mixed doubles semi-finals await for Britain's Joe Salisbury and his Brazilian partner Luisa Stefani.

They've beaten Jan Zielinski and Su-Wei Hsieh 7-6 (9-7) 6-3 to progress to the final four.

It's not good news for GB's Neal Skupski and American Desirae Krawczyk though. The two-time Wimbledon champions are out of this year's tournament after a 7-5 7-6 (9-7) defeat by the second seeds Zhang Shuai and Marcelo Arevalo.
