Lucy Hall fifth in Triathlon European Championships

Two Brits featured in the top 10, Lucy Hall in fifth and Jodie Stimpson in ninth

Britain's Lucy Hall finished fifth at the triathlon European Championships in Geneva, while Jodie Stimpson came ninth after returning from injury.

Hall, 23, finished two minutes 44 seconds behind winner Nicola Spirig of Switzerland and 51 seconds ahead of Commonwealth champion Stimpson, 26.

The results were repeated in the men's race, with Tom Bishop, 24, fifth and Matthew Sharp, 26, ninth.

Meanwhile, Ben Dijkstra, 16, won bronze in the men's junior race.

The World Triathlon Series returns next weekend, live on the BBC.

The races, on 18 and 19 July, will be live on the Red Button and will feature Stimpson, Alistair Brownlee, Gordon Benson, Non Stanford and Vicky Holland.

There will also be highlights on BBC Two on Monday 20 July from 14:00 BST.
