‘Daunting but exciting … it’s the only way forward’

Welsh rugby’s Elite Domestic Competition (EDC) is set to start next season and will replace the existing Welsh Premiership.

The EDC will be a ring fenced competition separated from the domestic pyramid and teams will be partnered with regions, with no relegation.

Cardiff were the 10th and final team to be confirmed last week but there is no place for another famous name of Welsh rugby, Neath RFC after their bid for a licence was rejected.
