Down manager Conor Laverty says that play in his side's All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final defeat by Galway "should have been stopped" prior to Shane Walsh's first-half goal because Patrick McCarthy was dealing with a blood injury.

The Tribesmen went on to win 2-26 to 3-21 and advance to the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
