McCartan stunner wins Football Writers' goal of the month

Shay McCartan's late winner from inside his own half for Portadown against Larne has been named October's goal of the month by the Northern Ireland Football Writers' Association.

McCartan's effort, which secured a 2-1 win over the reigning Irish Premiership champions, was selected ahead of superb strikes by Crusaders' Kieran Offord, Linfield's Joel Cooper and Chris Middleton of Queen's University.
